Bob Lau

Bob began studying Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan) in 1978 and has been teaching since 1994. Bob Lau is a certified instructor under the World Wide Association for Chinese Internal Martial Arts and through its President George Xu. He has been authorized to teach Ten Animal/Six Harmony Xin Yi by the great master Qian Zhao Hong, of Shanghai.

Tai Chi for Beginners

When: Mondays 9:00-10:00 am

Description: We will be learning the Tai Chi of Master Yang Chang Fu, more commonly known as Yang Style Tai Chi. The class will focus on alert relaxation, stable body posture and movements to experience the flow of energy or Qi. The benefits of Tai Chi include stress reduction, increased lower body strength, improved balance, posture, and body alignment.

Internal Martial Arts

When: Wednesdays 8:00-9:00am, Sundays 8:00-9:30am

Description: I teach Chinese Martial Arts using two traditions from the internal school of martial arts, namely, Chen Style Tai Chi (TaiJi) and XinYi Liu He Quan, sometimes known as 10 Animal XingYi.  We explore using Qi, mental focus and whole body awareness to relax our muscles and to develop whole body power, speed, agility and mental acuity.  A typical class includes practicing movements from the animal forms of XinYi, Chen Tai Chi spiral drills and form work, application work, one to one partner work, and multiple partner work.  This class is suited for those students who wish to develop internal power in their martial arts.
